ABOUT US

Our Story
Our People

In the fall of 1990 NorthEast Emergency Medical Services, Inc. was designated by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, Department of Public Health, Office of Emergency Medical Services, as one of five Regional Emergency Medical Services Councils to assist the department in establishing, coordinating, maintaining, and improving the EMS system throughout Massachusetts. Today we continue to provide planning, resource management, and a dedicated communication system to ensure our regional EMS system is capable of providing coordinated EMS not only to individuals but also during mass casualty incidents, natural disasters, and declared states of emergency.

Members of the Region III EMS Council and our standing committees are dedicated volunteers from all aspects of the EMS system. Municipal and private ambulance services, first responder agencies, community hospitals, trauma centers, physicians, nurses, dispatchers, EMTs, Paramedics, as well as state and local officials, all work together to help strengthen the EMS infrastructure and enhance our capabilities to anticipate and respond to the needs of EMS providers and the Region III EMS system.

Below is a map of the territories of Region 3 EMS.

Our Mission

To support and enhance a regional EMS system that delivers sustainable, high quality patient care through leadership, advocacy, and over-sight that ensures integrity and accountability in education, operations, and inter-service collaboration throughout our region.
