Region III PPE Cache

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is used every day by EMS providers to protect themselves, patients, and others from hazards encountered while providing pre-hospital patient care. The unpredictable nature of a pandemic makes it difficult to ensure the consistent availability of PPE which poses a tremendous challenge to the EMS system. Therefore, MA EMS Region III, in partnership with MA HMCC Region III has created a PPE cache that includes: N-95 and surgical masks, gowns, face shields, and gloves (PPE supplies).

All private and municipal First Responder Agencies in Region III are eligible to participate in this unique initiative. To assure cached PPE is continuously rotated and “fresh” when needed agencies will acquire a percentage of their annual amount of PPE supplies normally consumed through routine operations through the Region III PPE Cache and then replace the supplies to the Cache on a one-to-one basis.
